Post Workflow
Editorial and post should handle Volume production similarly to a traditional production because all the "visual effects" are recorded in camera. Except now, instead of a green screen background, Editorial will get a far more full view of the production with which to work.
In addition to traditionally captured footage, ASVP Volume production will also capture and deliver a full 3D environment, recorded camera and lens data and reference/set data to the post production team. This will lead to a much more streamlined post-production VFX if needed.
POSTVIS
This is the process of adding in temporary VFX shots into the edit. This allows directors, editors, producers, and studio executives the ability to understand timing and action of a specific shot. These shots will be replaced by higher quality finals. When shooting with ICVFX we are able to minimize or eliminate the need for postvis. For example, if there are ICVFX shots that the filmmaker determines they would like to redo with vfx, the ICVFX shot can serve as previs. If the filmmakers are happy with what they captured during principal photography, we can eliminate this process entirely.
